Ummm... WTF?

The real inconvenient truth

The whole world needs to adopt China's one-child policy

  1. One child is already happening anyway.
    No need for a law.
Our small family two generations removed from England:
Grand parents had four kids plus their three spouses.
Who had six kids among them all.
And those six kids and their two spouses have had three so far.
Maybe more to come but over two generations we're up plus one at this point.

Having previously worked in hospitality for over twenty years I can tell you that many of the people that I worked with didn't get married and if they did they didn't have kids before they divorced.

Without immigration one child is the natural state of post-industrial societies.

  2. If people choose to have one child, which many are these days, that's one thing. But if people are forced to have one child, that is quite another. I have 3 children, but my brother most likely won't be having any - so my family is 'one up' and will stay that way. Who knows how many kids my kids will have, but I want it to be up to them, not a govt.

Some other countries have been begging citizens to have children because their numbers are so low, the working class will not be able to support the retired class sooner than later. Japan I believe is one, and I believe Italy has offered to pay parents a large bonus if they have a baby.

Some areas of the world are very over-populated but mine is not. We have the largest country on the planet, but extremely small population. Even if you don't count the land area of the most northern regions, there is still a massive amount of space open and free and beautiful.

Because a city the size of Calgary houses 11 million people, residents of my very low populated region should submit to one birth rules? Whatever! That is so ridiculous. There are cities in this world that have a higher population than the entire country of Canada. Yet the writer of this piece feels it would be a good idea to have a global law? Ridiculous.

  3. I just saw that tired senior citizen hack Dianne Francis get her wrinkled old ass handed to in a basket on the O'Reilly Factor.

Yes, Dianne why did you have kids? Your son, Eric Francis is such a mamma's boy that he had to have his editor mommy get him a cushy job as a sports writer (and he's not even a GOOD sports writer).

Actually a better question, Dianne is why did your PARENTS have kids?
